Each script opens with a hook and closes with a reason to keep watching. Copy one, change the topic, and try the first in the demo at the top of the page.

  • Hook and a fact

    Saudi Arabic

تدري ليش قهوتك في البيت ما تطلع زي الكوفي؟ السبب مو البن ولا المكينة. السبب شي واحد بس، وأغلب الناس ما ينتبه له. خلّك معي للآخر.

What it says: Know why your coffee at home never tastes like the coffee shop's? It isn't the beans or the machine. It's just one thing, and most people don't notice it. Stay with me to the end.

What it says: Want to make béchamel pasta in just half an hour? You won't believe it's this easy. Grab the pot and come on, and I'll tell you right now how to get the béchamel right without a single lump.

ثلاث معلومات عن الصحراء العربية ربما لم تسمع بها. الأولى: الربع الخالي أكبر صحراء رملية متصلة في العالم. والثانية ستغيّر نظرتك إلى الكثبان. تابع حتى النهاية.

What it says: Three facts about the Arabian desert you may not have heard. First: the Empty Quarter is the largest continuous sand desert in the world. The second will change how you look at dunes. Watch to the end. (For accounts that speak to more than one Arab country.)

Hear an Arabic voice-over inside a finished video

This is a real Vocla Video: its voice-over is a Vocla library voice, and the scenes, burned-in captions and music were added in the same tool. The audio you generate from this page goes under your own footage the same way.

The problem

Everyone hears the same built-in voice

The read-my-text feature inside short-video apps is convenient: type and tap.

  1. But the Arabic voices on offer are few and everyone uses them, so a follower hears the same voice on the cooking clip, the news clip and the joke clip.

  2. Colloquial Arabic often comes out of that feature in a neutral, formal rhythm. You write a punchy line in Saudi dialect and it is delivered like a weather report, and half the joke is gone. In a short clip, dialect is not decoration; it is what makes a follower feel that someone from home is talking to them.

  3. And time is tight: you have two seconds before the viewer swipes to the next clip. If the voice starts slowly or coldly, you have lost the hook however good the script is.

Why Vocla

What Vocla adds to your short clips

  • Dialects spoken the way they are written

Saudi, Egyptian, Kuwaiti, Emirati, Iraqi, Lebanese, Moroccan and more: 18 dialects alongside Modern Standard Arabic. Write in colloquial Arabic and it is read in colloquial Arabic, in the rhythm of the people who speak it.

  • A voice that does not sound like every other clip

Choose a voice from the voice library that fits your account's personality and keep using it, so followers recognise your clips in the first second, before they even see the name.

  • A high-energy hook

Raise expressiveness and speed for the first sentence and generate it on its own if you like, then finish the clip at a calmer pace. Pauses are controlled from their setting and from punctuation.

  • English words and trending names

English words inside an Arabic sentence are read, and the product and app names you keep repeating can have their pronunciation saved in the pronunciation dictionary.

  • Little usage per clip

A thirty-second clip is only about five hundred characters. You see the cost before generating, and can retry the hook without draining what you have.

How it works

From clip idea to finished audio

  1. Step 1

    Write the hook first

One sentence of six to ten words: a question, a surprising result or a specific promise. If it does not pull you in, it will not pull anyone else in.

  2. Step 2

    Count characters, not words

Fifteen seconds is about two hundred and fifty characters, thirty seconds about five hundred, sixty seconds about a thousand. Cut everything that does not serve the idea.

  3. Step 3

    Write in your real dialect

Spell words the way you type them in messages to friends, then choose a voice from the same dialect. An Egyptian script in a Gulf voice will convince nobody.

  4. Step 4

Generate two versions of the hook

Try two voices or two different settings on the first sentence, pick the stronger one, then generate the rest of the script.

  5. Step 5

Download the MP3 and add it in your editing app

There is no direct link to TikTok or Instagram. You download the file to your phone, add it as an audio track in your video editor, then time the shots and on-screen text to it.

Cost

What does the voice for a short clip cost?

Short clips are the lightest use of text to speech: a one-minute clip is about 1,000 characters, which uses between 800 and 1,200 credits depending on the model, and a shorter clip uses proportionally less. The Free plan gives you 500͏ credits a month for personal use.

If your account promotes a product or a store, or publishes paid content for brands, that is commercial use and needs Starter at $4.99 a month or higher, which comes with 5,000 credits. The facts box on this page shows how many credits a short clip uses.

  • Free plan: 500͏ credits a month for text to speech, with MP3 downloads, for personal use only.
  • Text to speech uses 800 to 1,200 credits per 1,000 characters, depending on the model. 1,000 characters is about one spoken minute, and tashkeel marks are never counted.
  • Commercial usage rights and WAV export start with Starter: $4.99 a month with 5,000 credits.

Questions people ask

How do I change the TikTok voice to an Arabic voice in my dialect?

Generate the voice outside the app: write the script in your dialect in Vocla, choose a voice from the same dialect and download the MP3. Then add it to the clip in the video editor you use, in place of the built-in text reader, and mute the original audio if needed.

Is there a Saudi or Egyptian voice for short videos?

Yes, along with Kuwaiti, Emirati, Iraqi, Lebanese, Moroccan and others among the 18 dialects, plus Modern Standard Arabic. What matters is that the script is written in the dialect's own vocabulary; picking a Saudi voice for a formal script does not turn it into Saudi speech.

Does Vocla post the clip to TikTok directly?

No. Vocla gives you an audio file to download; you add it to the video and publish it yourself. There is no direct link to TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, or to editing apps.

How many characters should I write for a 30-second clip?

About five hundred characters including spaces, roughly eighty to ninety Arabic words at normal speed. Raising the speed makes room for a little more, but it is better to shorten the script than to squeeze the read.

Is Arabic text to speech for short clips free?

You can start for free: 200 characters in the demo here with no sign-up, which is enough for a full hook, then 500͏ credits a month on the Free plan for personal use. Business accounts and paid content need Starter or higher.

Can I make the whole clip from a script, voice and picture?

Yes, with Vocla Video, available from Starter: you write the script, scenes are proposed for you to approve, then a vertical video is produced with Arabic voice-over and captions burned into the picture. It is a separate tool from text to speech, with its own credit usage.
