Terms of Service
Effective September 21, 2026Last updated September 21, 2026Version 1.1
This policy is provided in Arabic and English. If the two versions differ, the English version prevails.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and the individual who operates Vocla (see “Who we are”) (“Vocla”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the website at vocla.ai, the Vocla web app, the API and any related service (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, buying a plan or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who we are
Vocla is operated by an individual (sole proprietor), not a registered company.
Contact: support@vocla.ai (support, billing and refunds) · privacy@vocla.ai (personal data) · legal@vocla.ai (legal notices).
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record: Dodo Payments sells subscriptions and credits to you, charges your payment method, and handles billing, sales tax/VAT and invoices. Your card details are never shared with us.
Operator details (full legal name, country of residence and postal address) will be published here before launch.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is not directed at children.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.
You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, including sanctions laws, or if we have previously terminated your account for a breach of these Terms.
2. Your account and workspaces
You need an account to generate audio. You agree to give accurate information, keep your password and any API keys secret, and tell us promptly at support@vocla.ai if you suspect unauthorised access. We recommend turning on two-factor authentication.
You are responsible for all activity in your account and in workspaces you own, including activity by members you invite. Workspace owners and admins control membership and can see the work stored in the workspace.
One person may not maintain multiple free accounts to obtain additional free credits.
3. The Service
Vocla is a web-based AI voice platform focused on Arabic. Depending on your plan it lets you convert text to speech, re-voice your recordings with library voices (voice changer), design new synthetic voices from a description (voice design), generate music and sound, dub video into other languages (as it becomes available), clean up audio, and talk to an AI voice assistant. Everything is delivered digitally in your browser or through the API; nothing is shipped.
Generated audio is produced by machine-learning models. Output can be imperfect, can vary between attempts, and may mispronounce words. You are responsible for reviewing output before you publish or rely on it.
We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a core paid feature during a period you have already paid for, you may ask for a pro-rata refund of the unused part of that period.
4. Plans, credits and prices
Usage is measured in credits. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance, and the credit cost of each action is shown before you confirm it. Credits for a generation are reserved when you start it and released automatically if it fails or you cancel it.
- Free plan: a monthly credit allowance with no payment method required, for personal and evaluation use (see Commercial use by plan).
- Paid subscriptions (monthly or annual): a larger monthly allowance and additional features such as commercial rights and WAV export. Annual plans are paid upfront and credits are granted month by month.
- Credit top-ups: one-time purchases of extra credits. Top-up credits do not expire while you have an active subscription.
- Enterprise: custom volumes, API access and service levels under a separate written agreement, which prevails over these Terms where they conflict.
Monthly plan credits do not roll over: unused subscription credits expire at the end of each monthly period. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are not refundable except as stated in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Prices are set and charged in USD. Amounts shown in other currencies (for example SAR, AED or EGP) are approximate and for guidance only; the final amount, including any tax, is shown at checkout. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 14 days' notice; a price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
5. Payments through our merchant of record
All purchases are processed by Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com), which acts as our merchant of record. This means Dodo Payments is the seller of record for your purchase: it sells the subscription or credits to you, charges your payment method, calculates and collects applicable sales tax, VAT or GST, and issues your invoices and receipts. Your purchase is also subject to the Dodo Payments buyer terms, and Dodo Payments's privacy policy applies to the payment data it collects.
Your card or wallet details are entered on Dodo Payments's secure checkout and are never received or stored by Vocla. The charge appears on your statement as DODOPAY / Dodo Payments.
You can view orders, download invoices, update your payment method and cancel from Settings → Subscription in Vocla or in the Dodo Payments customer portal at customer.dodopayments.com.
6. Renewal, cancellation and refunds
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, and Dodo Payments charges your payment method on file until you cancel.
Cancel anytime. You can cancel from Settings → Subscription, through the Dodo Payments customer portal, or by emailing support@vocla.ai. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access to your plan and its remaining credits until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan. We do not give partial refunds for unused time.
Refunds. Refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which includes a 14-day refund on your first subscription payment when less than 10% of that plan's monthly credits has been used.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we keep your access for a three-day grace period while Dodo Payments retries; after that, generation is paused until payment succeeds or you move to the Free plan.
Chargebacks. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank so we can help. While a dispute is open, spending in the affected workspace may be frozen.
7. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In particular, you may not use the Service to impersonate a real person without their consent, create deepfakes of public figures, commit fraud or scams, harass people, produce hate speech or sexual content, spread election misinformation, make unsolicited automated calls, or break the law.
We use automated checks and human review to prevent abuse, and we may refuse, block or remove any request or output that we reasonably believe violates these Terms.
8. Your content
“Your content” means everything you submit to the Service — text, scripts, prompts, lyrics, uploaded audio and video, and reference selections — and the output generated for you. You keep all rights you hold in your inputs.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you (including sending it to the AI providers described in Third-party AI providers), to comply with law, and to enforce these Terms. This licence ends when your content is deleted from our systems, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content to train our own AI models.
You confirm that you have all rights and permissions needed for your content, including the consent of every identifiable person whose voice appears in audio you upload, and that your content and our use of it as permitted here will not infringe anyone's rights or break any law.
9. Ownership of AI output
As between you and us, and to the extent permitted by law, you own the audio and other output generated for you from your inputs (“output”), and we assign to you any rights we may have in that output, subject to your compliance with these Terms and the rules in Commercial use by plan.
Please note: AI output may not be protected by copyright in some countries; similar or identical output may be generated for other users, and we cannot give you exclusive rights in output that others generate independently; library voices, voice designs and model names remain ours or our licensors' (see Our intellectual property) — owning your output does not give you ownership of the voice used to create it.
You are responsible for how you use output, including labelling it as AI-generated where the law or the platform where you publish it requires.
10. Commercial use by plan
| Plan | What you may do with output |
|---|---|
| Free | Personal, non-commercial and evaluation use only. You may share it non-commercially (for example on a personal social account), but not in paid products, advertising, monetised channels or client work. |
| Professional (monthly or annual) | Commercial use, including advertising, monetised videos and podcasts, audiobooks, e-learning, games, apps and client work. Output created while your paid plan was active stays licensed for commercial use after you cancel. |
| Enterprise | As set out in your written agreement. |
On every plan you may not: sell, license or distribute library voices or voice designs as stand-alone voices or voice models; use output or the Service to build, train or improve a competing speech, voice or music model; or use output in a way that breaks the Acceptable Use Policy.
11. Voices, voice design and consent
Library voices are synthetic voices licensed to us or produced for Vocla; you may use them only through the Service and within these Terms. Voice design creates new synthetic voices from your description; references you choose influence the style of a design but do not copy a real person's identity.
Voice cloning is available on paid plans, within the limits of your plan. You may clone only your own voice, or the voice of a person who has given you express written permission; cloning or imitating public figures, or anyone else without their consent, is prohibited. Cloned voices are private to your workspace, and you can delete them at any time. You may not use any feature to imitate the voice of an identifiable real person without their express consent. Our Voice Consent Policy explains the consent requirements for voice cloning and for recordings you upload, and how to report misuse.
12. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, library voices, voice designs we provide, documentation, model names (such as Vox Prime, Vox Stream and Vox Edge) and the Vocla name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, scrape or resell the Service, or access it by automated means other than our API.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
13. Third-party AI providers and services
To generate output we send the relevant inputs to third-party AI providers — currently Google (Gemini, Cloud Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Text and Lyria models), OpenAI and, for voice cloning, a specialised voice-model provider — and we may also use models we host ourselves. We choose the provider for each task and may change providers at any time without notice; output may therefore differ over time. These providers process your content on our behalf as described in the Privacy Policy.
The Service also relies on other providers (such as hosting, storage, email and payments). We are not responsible for third-party websites or services you choose to use alongside Vocla.
14. API access
Where your plan includes API access, you must keep API keys confidential, use them only for your own workspace, respect rate limits and not use the API to resell the Service as a stand-alone voice service. Activity made with your keys is your responsibility. We may revoke keys that are exposed or misused.
15. Availability, support and beta features
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available in every country. Planned maintenance, provider outages and events outside our control can cause downtime. There is no service-level agreement (SLA) unless one is included in a written Enterprise agreement.
Features marked “beta”, “preview”, “early access” or similar are provided for evaluation, may change or be withdrawn at any time and are provided “as is” without any commitment.
Support is provided by email at support@vocla.ai. We aim to reply within two business days.
16. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data, and our Cookie Policy explains the cookies we use.
17. Suspension and termination
By you. You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account cancels any subscription at the end of the paid period and does not by itself create a right to a refund.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access, with notice where reasonable, if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if we must do so by law, if your account is used for fraud or creates a security risk, or if payments are disputed or cannot be collected. For a serious breach we may act immediately. Fees paid for a period in which we terminate for your breach are not refunded. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
Effect. When your access ends, you lose access to the Service and to remaining credits; your content is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy, so download anything you need first. Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, licences you granted, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law) survive termination.
18. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that output will be accurate, suitable for your purpose or free from third-party rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by law.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity; and (b) our total liability for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
20. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify us against claims, damages, losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) brought by third parties that arise from your content, your use of output, or your breach of these Terms or of the law — for example a claim by a person whose voice you used without consent.
21. Governing law and disputes
If you have a complaint, please contact legal@vocla.ai first; we will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of Vocla is resident (see “Who we are”), and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the country in which the operator of Vocla is resident. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring proceedings in its courts where that law allows.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. For material changes we will give at least 14 days' notice by email or in the app before they take effect. The version number and effective date at the top of this page show the current version. If you continue to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree, you can cancel before they apply.
23. General
These Terms, together with the policies they refer to and any order you place through Dodo Payments, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them to a successor operator or company that takes over the Service, and we will tell you if that happens. We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These Terms are provided in Arabic and English; if they differ, the English version prevails.
