What is Modern Standard Arabic text to speech?
Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) is the shared language of the whole Arab world: books, newspapers and school curricula are written in it, and news bulletins, speeches and documentaries are read in it. MSA text to speech gives you a correct reading of a formal text that listeners understand in Riyadh, Cairo and Casablanca alike.
MSA is harder for machines than the dialects in one respect: case endings and short vowels. Arabic is usually written without diacritics, and one word can be read several ways. That is why Vocla adds tashkeel in one click and shows you every change to approve, lets you hear the possible readings of any word and pick the right one, and never counts diacritics toward your credits.
Tips for writing in Modern Standard Arabic
Add diacritics to the words whose meaning or case ending matters, let automatic tashkeel handle the rest, then review it.
Write numbers and dates as words when you need a specific reading.
Break long paragraphs with clear punctuation: commas and full stops create the reader's pauses.

Questions about text to speech in Modern Standard Arabic
How do I convert text to speech in Modern Standard Arabic?
Paste your text into the demo at the top of the page, pick a voice and listen right away, up to 200 characters with no sign-up. For longer scripts, create a free account, choose MSA in the studio's dialect menu, then generate and download an MP3.
Does it add tashkeel automatically?
Yes. The studio adds diacritics to the whole script or the part you select in one click, and highlights every change for you to review before applying it. Diacritics are never counted toward your credits.
Does the MSA voice sound natural or robotic?
Vocla uses modern AI voice models that read with a tone and rhythm close to a human narrator, and you can adjust speed, stability and expressiveness. Try your own text in the free demo and judge for yourself.
Can I turn a whole book into audio?
Yes. Each generation accepts up to 10,000 characters, so split the book into chapters and generate them in sequence; they all stay in your history for download. How much you can generate depends on your plan's credits.
How do I fix a word that is mispronounced?
Double-click the word in the editor to see its possible readings, listen to each and pick the right one. Add recurring names and terms to the pronunciation dictionary once and every voice reads them correctly.
Can I use the audio in a paid course or on YouTube?
Yes, on a paid plan from Starter up, which includes commercial usage rights. The Free plan is for personal use and evaluation.
