Closing-time notice
Modern Standard Arabicعملاءنا الكرام، نودّ إعلامكم بأن المتجر سيغلق أبوابه بعد خمس عشرة دقيقة. نرجو منكم التوجه إلى صناديق الدفع لإتمام مشترياتكم. نشكركم على زيارتكم، ونسعد برؤيتكم مجددًا.
What it says: Dear customers, please note that the store will close in fifteen minutes. Kindly make your way to the checkouts to complete your purchases. Thank you for visiting, and we look forward to seeing you again. (Generate matching versions for thirty and five minutes.)
Supermarket department offer
Saudi Arabicحياكم الله في أسواق الخير. لا يفوتكم عرض اليوم في قسم الخضار والفواكه: اشترِ كيلو وخذ الثاني علينا. العرض ساري لين الساعة عشر الليلة بس. وش تنتظرون؟ القسم على يمينكم بعد المدخل، ومرة قريب.
What it says: Welcome to Aswaq Al-Khair. Don't miss today's offer in the fruit and vegetable section: buy one kilo and the second is on us. The offer runs until ten o'clock tonight only. What are you waiting for? The section is on your right after the entrance, really close by.
Mall safety notice
Emirati Arabicزوارنا الكرام، الأرضية عند المدخل الشمالي مبللة الحين، فانتبهوا وايد وانتوا تمشون. وإذا شفتوا شي يحتاج مساعدة، خبّروا أقرب موظف أو مكتب خدمة العملاء في الطابق الأرضي. شكرًا لتعاونكم.
What it says: Dear visitors, the floor at the north entrance is wet at the moment, so please take extra care as you walk. If you see anything that needs attention, tell the nearest member of staff or the customer service desk on the ground floor. Thank you for your cooperation.

The problem
The microphone at the till is not a solution
In most shops a member of staff picks up the microphone and reads the offer: sometimes too quietly, sometimes too fast, sometimes with feedback from the speakers.
At peak hours nobody has time to announce anything at all, and the offer passes without anyone hearing about it.
The closing announcement is the most awkward. A tired employee rushes through it, and the customer hears a tone that tells them to leave, not a polite invitation to the checkouts.
Some shops recorded their announcements once, years ago, and still play them: an offer that has ended, opening hours that have changed, a voice in one branch that differs from the next. Updating them means tracking down the same studio and the same voice artist.
Why Vocla
Why Vocla for in-store announcements
One voice in every branch and every shift
Choose a voice from the voice library and generate all your announcements with it. Customers hear the same tone morning and evening, in every branch, whoever happens to be on shift.
Clear above the noise of the floor
You control speed, clarity and pauses, so the announcement comes out at a calm rhythm with clean articulation that is understood over trolleys, music and air conditioning.
Arabic in your customers' dialect, plus English
Modern Standard Arabic for formal notices and the city's dialect for offers, such as Saudi, Emirati or Egyptian. If your visitors come from many countries, generate an English version of the same announcement and play it after the Arabic.
A new offer every week without a studio
Change the department and the offer and generate a new file in a minute. Your earlier announcements stay in your history, so you can download the closing notice or the safety message again whenever you need it.
A file you play on your own system
Download an MP3 on any plan, or a WAV from the Starter plan, and play it on the sound system your store already has. Vocla does not connect to playback hardware or schedule announcements; it produces the file.
How it works
How to prepare your store's announcements
Step 1
List the announcements you repeat
The welcome at opening, department offers, the notices thirty, fifteen and five minutes before closing, safety messages and queue phrases. Ten to fifteen announcements are enough for most stores.
Step 2
One message per announcement
Open with an attention phrase such as «عملاءنا الكرام» (dear customers), give the message in two sentences, and end with thanks. Anything beyond twenty seconds is not heard to the end in a busy store.
Step 3
Generate each announcement as its own file
One file per message with a clear name, such as closing fifteen minutes or bakery offer. Staff can pick the right file easily, and you can replace one without touching the rest.
Step 4
Test on the store's speakers at a busy time
What sounds clear on a phone can get lost under a high ceiling. Play the file at real volume, stand in the furthest aisle, and if a word is not understood, slow the speed or rephrase the sentence.
Step 5
Load the files into your playback system
Copy the files to the device or software that runs the store's audio and arrange them with the music as your system allows. Scheduling and playback happen on your side.

Cost
What do in-store announcements cost?
A single announcement is short, usually one to two hundred characters, and you pay by characters: 800 to 1,200 credits per thousand depending on the model. A full set of fifteen announcements comes to two or three minutes of speech, and you generate it once and play it as often as you like with no extra cost per play.
Playing announcements in a shop or a mall is commercial use, so you need the Starter plan or higher at $4.99 a month, which includes WAV export and 5,000 credits, enough for a handful of short announcements. The Free plan and its 500͏ credits a month are for personal trials only.

Quick maths
Worked example: a 30-second script is about 400 to 600 credits.
- Free plan: 500͏ credits a month for text to speech, with MP3 downloads, for personal use only.
- Text to speech uses 800 to 1,200 credits per 1,000 characters, depending on the model. 1,000 characters is about one spoken minute, and tashkeel marks are never counted.
- Commercial usage rights and WAV export start with Starter: $4.99 a month with 5,000 credits.
Figures use the current plans and default credit rates. The exact cost is always shown in the app before you confirm.
Publishing this for a business?
The Free plan is for personal use and evaluation. Audio and video you publish for a brand, a client or a monetised channel need commercial usage rights, which start with the Starter plan.
Questions people ask
Can I play the audio in my shop?
Yes, if you are on the Starter plan or higher, where commercial usage rights begin. The Free plan is for personal use only and does not cover playing audio to customers in a shop, a mall or a gym.
Does Vocla connect to my store's sound system?
No. There is no connection to speakers, playback devices or in-store music software, and no scheduling of announcements. You download the file as MP3 or WAV and play it on the system you already have, like any other audio file.
Can it call queue numbers automatically?
No. Vocla is not a queue-calling system and does not generate speech live for each number. You can prepare fixed phrases, such as asking the next customer to go to the available counter, or generate a file per number in advance if your queue system plays audio files.
Can I make the announcement in Arabic and English?
Yes. Generate the Arabic script with an Arabic voice, then write the English script and generate it as a second file, and play one after the other. Pick two voices close in pitch and calmness so the announcement sounds like a single piece.
How long should an in-store announcement be?
Ten to twenty seconds, roughly twenty-five to forty Arabic words. Customers are listening while they shop, so give one message and state the place or the time clearly. If you have two offers, make them two separate announcements.
Which file format is better, MP3 or WAV?
Most in-store audio systems accept MP3, which is on every plan. If your system asks for WAV, or you want an uncompressed file, that is available from the Starter plan. Check your device's manual for the formats it accepts.
