Voice Over Price in Egypt: What Freelancers and AI Voice Cost in EGP
Voice over price in Egypt in 2026: how freelance Egyptian voiceover listings compare with AI voice on Vocla, worked examples and a dated EGP exchange rate.
In this article
The voice over price in Egypt depends on length, usage rights and revisions. Egyptian-dialect voiceover listings on Khamsat start from $5, rising with length and extras. On Vocla, a 30-second ad uses about 600 credits, and Starter costs $4.99 for 5,000 credits with commercial rights, roughly EGP 254 at the early-September 2026 rate of about EGP 51 per dollar.
01What drives voiceover prices in Egypt
Ask ten voice actors in Cairo to quote a 30-second ad and you'll get ten different numbers. That is normal: a quote is the sum of several factors, and once you know them you can read any quote and see what you are paying for.
- Length: words or seconds are the base unit, so always price a final script.
- Usage rights: a TV spot or paid social ad is priced differently from an internal video, and rights are often quoted separately.
- Revisions: changes after recording may mean a new session, so ask how many are included.
- Dialect and style: street Egyptian, neutral Egyptian, Fusha, or character acting.
- Turnaround: same-day delivery usually costs more.
- Production quality: microphone, treated room and clean-up all affect price and result.
With generated voice most of these shrink: length is the main factor, a revision means regenerating only the changed line, and every dialect costs the same. That doesn't make a human voice actor the wrong choice, and we cover when one is worth it below.
02What freelance listings show
The easiest place to see market prices is freelance marketplaces such as Khamsat, Mostaql and Fiverr. On Khamsat, the Egyptian-dialect voiceover services we reviewed start from $5, for ads, storytelling or educational videos.
But $5 is a starting price, not your project's price. It usually covers a limited length, and each seller defines what is included. Read the listing and ask before ordering:
- 1How many words or seconds does the starting price cover?
- 2How many free revisions after delivery?
- 3Are paid-ad rights included, or extra?
- 4Which format, WAV or MP3, and how many days to deliver?
- 5Can they record a short sample of your script first?
Don't build a budget on an average price from the internet. Get two or three quotes for the same script and the same rights, and compare the final amount after extras.

03How Vocla prices AI voice: by characters
Vocla has no per-minute or per-ad price; it bills by characters. Each plan includes monthly credits, and each generation draws on them according to the model and script length. Roughly 1,000 characters is one spoken minute, and tashkeel is not counted.
| Model | Credits per 1,000 chars | 30-second ad | 10-minute video |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vox Prime | 1,200 | About 600 | About 12,000 |
| Vox Stream | 1,000 | About 500 | About 10,000 |
| Vox Edge | 800 | About 400 | About 8,000 |
Every dialect costs the same: Egyptian, Saudi and Fusha alike. If you want one ad in Egyptian for Cairo and in Saudi for the Gulf, you pay for the two scripts' characters, nothing extra for the dialect.
Unlike a quote, the cost is visible before you generate: the app shows the credits each run will use, and changing one word later means regenerating that sentence, usually a few dozen credits.

Vocla's pricing page shows indicative prices in EGP, but you are charged in US dollars. The pound amount on your card statement depends on the exchange rate at payment, and your bank may add its own fees. This table uses EGP 51 per dollar, close to the Central Bank of Egypt rate in early September 2026:
| Plan | USD | Approx. EGP | Credits | Key point |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 | 0 | 500 | Testing, no commercial rights |
| Starter | 4.99 | About 254 | 5,000 | Commercial rights and WAV export |
| Professional | 29 | About 1,479 | 80,000 | Regular and long-form work, three seats |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Companies and high volume |
Per minute: on Starter a credit is about $0.001, so a Vox Prime minute is about $1.20, or roughly EGP 61. On Professional the same minute is about $0.44, roughly EGP 22. If you run out, top-ups start at 20,000 credits for $10.
Exchange rate: the Central Bank of Egypt listed the dollar at EGP 50.87 buy and 51.01 sell on 2 September 2026, as reported by Al Khaleej on that date. EGP figures here are approximate; the current amount appears on the pricing page and at checkout.

06Writing Egyptian for AI voice
Egyptian Arabic is one of the most widely understood dialects across the Arab world, thanks to decades of film and TV, which makes it a strong choice for ads aimed at a broad audience. For generated voice to sound natural, though, the script itself must be written in Egyptian, not Fusha read in an Egyptian voice.

بتدوّر على هدية حلوة؟ عندنا اللي إنت عايزه وبأحسن سعر
- Write as people talk: عايز not أريد, دلوقتي not الآن, كده not هكذا.
- Pick the register: neutral Egyptian for corporate and general ads, more street Egyptian for comedy and social content.
- Don't worry about the letter jeem: an Egyptian voice says it the Egyptian way on its own.
- Numbers: spell them as spoken, خمسين جنيه rather than 50 EGP.
- Choose an Egyptian voice: set the dialect picker to Egyptian and pick from the Egyptian voices in the library.
The same advice saves money with a human voice actor too: a script that arrives finished and in the right dialect means a shorter session and fewer paid revisions.
07Compare with your own quotes
We won't claim AI voice is always cheaper without seeing your quotes. This tool lets you enter the voice actor's quote, revision fee and minutes, then sets them against the Vocla plan that covers the same minutes, without assuming any price on your behalf:

One spoken minute is estimated at about 1,000 characters on the Prime model (1,200 credits per 1,000 characters). In Vocla a revision is a regeneration: no extra fee per round, but it uses credits (we assume each round re-voices about a fifth of the month’s script). A human narrator is still the right choice for acting performances or when a specific person’s voice is required.
Some projects still deserve a human: drama that needs acting, a campaign built on a known voice, or a client who insists on a specific person. Even then, use generated voice for drafts so you walk into the session with a tested script and fewer paid revisions.
08Ways to spend less
- Write for the ear and trim: every extra sentence costs characters.
- Match the model to the job: Vox Prime for brand-facing ads, Vox Edge for drafts and internal videos.
- Audition on a short passage: one paragraph in several voices, then the full script in the winner.
- Fix pronunciation first: put product and place names in the pronunciation dictionary so you don't regenerate for them.
- Regenerate the line, not the file: if one sentence changes, redo only that one.
The Free plan is for testing and personal use and has no commercial rights. Anything going into an ad, a client deliverable or a phone system needs Starter or above.
