  SRT file

  A plain-text subtitle format where each caption is numbered and has a start and end time. Most video platforms and editors accept it; VTT is a close relative used by web players.

  Technology that turns spoken audio into written text, also called automatic speech recognition. For Arabic its accuracy depends on dialect, recording quality, overlapping speakers and English mixed into speech.

  VTT file (WebVTT)

  A W3C caption format built for web video players. It resembles SRT but starts with a WEBVTT line, uses a full stop instead of a comma before milliseconds and supports more styling and positioning.
