Quick answer

Vocla credits are one currency across every tool. Voice is billed by characters: 1,200 credits per 1,000 characters on Vox Prime, 1,000 on Vox Stream and 800 on Vox Edge, and 1,000 characters is about one spoken minute. Video is billed per second: 150 credits on Lite, 400 on Standard. Starter's 5,000 monthly credits buy about 4 minutes of top-quality voice.

01Vocla credits in one minute

Vocla doesn't sell a separate subscription per tool. Every plan comes with a monthly credit balance, and everything you generate draws from it: text to speech, video, captions, dubbing, music and the voice changer. The idea is simple. The question we hear most is the practical one: what does 5,000 credits actually buy? This guide answers with numbers, using the default rates as of October 2026.

  • Plan credits: refreshed at the start of each billing period. Unused plan credits don't roll over.
  • Top-up credits: bought once when you need them, and they don't expire while your subscription is active.
  • Quote before you generate: every job shows its credit cost before you confirm, so there are no month-end surprises.
  • Dialect doesn't change the price: Saudi, Emirati, Kuwaiti, Egyptian, Jordanian, Lebanese, MSA and English all bill at the model's rate.
PlanMonthly priceMonthly creditsHighlights

Prices are shown in SAR, AED and EGP on the pricing page for guidance; you're charged in USD. Billed annually, Starter is $47.88 a year and Professional $270.

02How many credits does text to speech use?

Text to speech is metered per 1,000 characters, and the rate depends on the model you pick. Good news for Arabic writers: tashkeel marks are not counted, so you can add diacritics to ambiguous words to fix pronunciation for free. Since 1,000 characters is roughly a spoken minute, credits convert to minutes easily:

ModelCredits per 1,000 charsFree minutesStarter minutesProfessional minutes
Vox Prime1,200about 0.4about 4.2about 66
Vox Stream1,0000.5580
Vox Edge800about 0.66.25100

Vox Prime is the highest-quality model, the one for ads and anything that fronts your brand. Vox Edge is lighter and cheaper, built for drafts, internal content and volume. Each generation accepts up to 10,000 characters, so long scripts go in parts.

Tip

Numbers run long when spoken. “2026” is four characters on the page but several words out loud. For an accurate duration estimate, write numbers out as words before you calculate.

03How video uses credits

Vocla Video bills every rendered second by quality tier, plus a few fixed items. The full formula: video seconds × tier rate + 200 credits per storyboard still + 120 credits for a music bed if you add one + the voiceover at your speech model's rate.

Quality tierCredits per second15-second videoAvailable on
Lite1502,250Starter and up
Standard4006,000Professional and up
Pro1,00015,000Enterprise
  • Reserve, then settle: credits are reserved when rendering starts and settled after the final mix. Failed scenes are refunded.
  • Rendered seconds: each scene is rounded up to the nearest duration the video model supports, so the final figure can run slightly above the video's length.
  • Voiceover: charged once, on the first render.
  • One bad scene: regenerate it alone after rendering and pay only for that scene's seconds.
  • Storyboard: regenerating a still before you render is free.

Video has two separate limits: your credits and your plan's monthly video seconds. Starter includes 30 seconds a month, up to 15 seconds per video, 720p, vertical 9:16, with a watermark. Professional includes 300 seconds, up to 60 seconds per video, 1080p, every format, no watermark. Enterprise includes 1,800 seconds, up to 180 seconds per video, and up to 4K. The Free plan has no video.

04Worked examples for each plan

Here are the formulas applied to real jobs. Figures are approximate and assume about 1,000 characters per minute and one scene every 6 seconds or so:

JobMathsCredits (approx.)
30-second voice ad on Vox Prime0.5 × 1,200600
Same ad in three dialects3 × 6001,800
15-second Lite video with music2,250 + 3 stills × 200 + 120 + voice ~300about 3,270
10-minute YouTube voiceover on Vox Prime10 × 1,20012,000
60-second Standard video with music24,000 + 10 stills × 200 + 120 + voice ~1,200about 27,320
  1. 1Free, 500 credits: enough to audition several voices and dialects on short paragraphs. About 25 seconds on Vox Prime or 37 on Vox Edge, personal use only.
  2. 2Starter, 5,000 credits: a 30-second ad in three dialects with 3,200 credits left, or one full 15-second Lite video with storyboard stills and music (about 3,270) with about 1,730 to spare. Two 15-second videos (your full 30 monthly seconds) need about 6,540 credits, so plan on a top-up.
  3. 3Professional, 80,000 credits: six 10-minute YouTube voiceovers on Vox Prime (72,000), or two one-minute Standard videos (about 54,600).
  4. 4A Professional caveat: 300 seconds of Standard video is 120,000 credits for rendering alone, more than the plan holds. On Lite it's about 45,000. Pick the tier per video, not by default.
Tip

Pad every estimate by about 20% for voice auditions, a regenerated line or a re-rendered scene. Budget a 12,000-credit project at 14,400.

Run your own numbers: set your monthly characters, model, video seconds and tier, and the calculator shows the credits and the plan that covers them.

05Captions, dubbing and the other tools

Other tools meter differently, and the constant rule is that you see the cost before you confirm. Here's what the product pages publish today:

ToolHow it's billedLongest file or video by plan
Speech to text150 credits per started minutePaid plans only: Basic 15 min, Starter 30, Professional 120, Enterprise 300
AI captionsTranscription 150 + render 30 credits per started minute; translated captions +60 per minuteSame as speech to text
AI dubbingShown in the quote before you startPaid plans only: Basic 3 min, Starter 10, Professional 30, Enterprise 60
Music, voice changerA fixed amount per generation, shown before you confirmMusic on paid plans; voice changer from Starter

Example: burning Arabic captions into a 5-minute video costs 750 for transcription plus 150 for the render, 900 credits in total. Add English translated captions and it's 300 more. The tashkeel tools and pronunciation dictionary are included on every plan; the audio you generate afterwards is billed by characters as usual.

06Out of credits? Top up or upgrade

Run out before the month ends and you have two options. Top-ups are one-time purchases that don't expire while your subscription is active:

Top-upPricePer credit
20,000 credits$10$0.0005
50,000 credits$25$0.0005
100,000 credits$50$0.0005

For comparison, a Starter credit works out at about $0.001 ($4.99 ÷ 5,000) and a Professional credit at $0.0003625 ($29 ÷ 80,000). Once your regular usage is above roughly 45,000 credits a month, Professional usually beats Starter plus top-ups, and it adds seats and higher video and dubbing limits. If the spike is a single busy month, such as a Ramadan campaign, a top-up does the job without changing plans.

Heads-up

The Free plan is for testing and personal use only. Any voice or video that goes into an ad, a client deliverable or a phone system needs Starter or above, where commercial rights begin.

  • Match the model to the job: Vox Prime for final output, Vox Edge for drafts.
  • Audition before you commit: test a couple of voices on two lines, then generate the full script.
  • Fix pronunciation up front: add names and brands to the pronunciation dictionary so you don't regenerate.
  • Approve the storyboard first: stills cost far less than scenes and redoing them is free; rendering is where credits go.

Rates are Vocla's default rates as of October 2026 and may change; caption rates are as published on the AI captions page. The in-app quote shown before each generation is always the exact figure.

Key takeaways

  • Voice is billed by characters: 1,200, 1,000 or 800 credits per 1,000 characters by model, and tashkeel is free.
  • Video is billed per second: 150 on Lite, 400 on Standard, 1,000 on Pro, plus 200 per storyboard still and 120 for music.
  • Starter's 5,000 credits suit short ads; Professional's 80,000 suit long-form voice and regular video.
  • Plan credits refresh monthly; top-up credits don't expire while your subscription is active.

Frequently asked questions

How many minutes of voice do I get on Starter?

About 4.2 minutes on Vox Prime, 5 on Vox Stream and 6.25 on Vox Edge, assuming roughly 1,000 characters per spoken minute. Tashkeel marks are not counted as characters.

Do unused Vocla credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits reset at the start of each billing period. Top-up credits don't expire while your subscription is active.

Does the Free plan include video?

No. Vocla Video starts on Starter with 30 seconds a month, up to 15 seconds per video, 720p and a watermark. Rendering also uses credits, quoted before you start.

Why did my video cost a little more than I calculated?

Each scene is rounded up to a duration the video model supports, and storyboard stills, music and the voiceover are added. Failed scenes are refunded, and the exact figure appears before you confirm the render.

Does the dialect change the price?

No. Every dialect, MSA and English bill at the same model rate, so a Kuwaiti voiceover costs exactly what an Egyptian one does.
